Once we have decided to work together, we will go ahead and schedule our first therapy session. I provide therapy on both a short- and a long-term basis. The duration of our work together is something we can discuss as we start therapy, and revisit as we continue.
Given that research has shown psychotherapy to be most effective when it occurs regularly and consistently, I tend to schedule sessions on a weekly basis. Depending on your treatment needs and therapy goals, however, there is also the option to meet more frequently. This is something you and I can discuss as we begin our work together.
